Israel has approved the establishment of a new settlement in the occupied West Bank for the first time in more than two decades.
The approval was given at a meeting of Israel’s security cabinet.
The construction would take place in the Emek Shilo area near Nablus.
Meanwhile, Palestine Liberation Organisation executive member Hanan Ashrawi while condemning the move, said Israel is more committed to appeasing its illegal settlers than abiding by the requirements for stability and peace.
