Former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi gets a relief from the Accountability Court

ISLAMABAD - Accountability court on Monday ordered jail authorities to provide facilities to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader and former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, who is currently in Adiala jail on judicial remand in a case pertaining to the liquefied natural gas (LNG) contract case.

Accountability court Judge Muhammad Bashir heard the plea of the former premier for provision of facilities in his prison cell in the Adiala Jail.

According to details, the petition stated that the former premire Abbasi would be provided with the same prison facilities given to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

Judge Muhammad Bashir ordered to provide the former premier with the same prison facilities.

Earlier on July 18, 2019, the anti-corruption watchdog had arrested Shahid Khaqan Abbasi near Thokar Niaz Baig toll plazain a multi-billion-rupee case related to the award of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import contract.
