KPK Police seize huge caches of arms being smuggled from FATA to Punjab

NOWSHERA: (APP) Azhakhel police on Friday foiled a bid to smuggle huge cache of arms from FATA to Punjab via Khyber Pakhtunkhwa arresting one accused and recovering arms and ammunitions from cavities of a car.

District Police Officer Wahid Mehmood told media here that he received a tip-off that a huge cache of arms would be smuggled from FATA to Punjab through Nowshera district, adding he put the police force on high alert and directed to check each and every vehicle.

During snap checking on GT Road near Azhakhel police station, DSP Pabbi Khan Khel Khan along with SHO Aen Khan and ASI Ayaz Khan intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number LEX-7971. During the checking, the police officials recovered nine guns, three pistols, 20 rounds of AK-47 and 12,700 cartridges of different bores.

KPK Police crackdown against suspects after Peshawar blast

The police arrested accused Taj Ali Khan resident of Dara Adam Khel from the spot and started investigation.
