Pakistani Skipper Babar Azam became most successful Pakistani batter in the history of the ICC World Cup (T20 and One Day) who scored the most runs for Pakistan in ICC World Cup (T20 and One Day) matches.
Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam achieved this honor by scoring a half-century against South Africa in a match at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, India. This made him the highest run-scorer for Pakistan in ICC World Cup (T20 and One Day) matches.
Babar Azam is participating in his fifth ICC tournament (Champions Trophy 2017, World Cup 2019, T20 World Cup 2021, T20 World Cup 2022, World Cup 2023), and so far, he has scored 1108 runs in 27 innings, including 11 half-centuries and one century.
It's worth noting that after former captain Javed Miandad, who completed 1000 runs in the history of the World Cup, Babar Azam is only the second Pakistani player to achieve this milestone.
In 1992, World Cup winner Miandad accomplished this feat in his 28th innings, while Babar Azam achieved it in his 26th innings. It's notable that in the 2019 World Cup, Babar Azam's 474 runs in eight innings are the most by any Pakistani batsman in the history of mega events.
