Prime Minister Imran Khan says the PTI government during its first 100 days has set a direction to turn around the country’s economy through effective policy initiatives in diverse areas.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad to mark the first 100 days of PTI government, he said the government is focused on socio-economic uplift of poor and setting up a corruption-free society.
He said during the first 100 days of government, we have made every effort to follow the model of the State of Madina and the footsteps of Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), Who pursued compassionate and people-centric policies.
The Prime Minister said a Poverty Alleviation Authority will be launched soon and Benazir Income Support Programme, Zakat and Ushr, Bait-ul-Mal and other such institutions would come under it.
He said the authority would make overall supervision of various poverty reduction programmes to cater to the needs of the poor in housing, education, health and other areas.
Referring to the measures taken by PTI government in its first 100 days, the Prime Minister said the FIA was strengthened to curb money laundering and agreements signed with twenty six countries on sharing information about plundered money.
Imran Khan said 350 billion rupees worth of land was recovered as part of the government's anti-encroachment drive while FIRs were lodged against bigwigs involved in power theft.
The government also allotted land to build shelters for poor people in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
