KABUL - At least six Daesh fighters were killed in an ongoing clash with the Taliban in Nangarhar province, in east of Afghanistan, on Wednesday, local officials confirmed on Thursday.
Eight Taliban fighters and four Daesh militants were wounded in the conflict, Nangarhar governor’s spokesman Attaullah Khogyani told TOLOnews.
The clash is ongoing in Khogyani district in the province over the past week, Khogyani said.
The spokesman did not provide further details.
Taliban has not commented on the report so far.
This is not the first fighting between the two insurgent groups. In May, 21 Taliban and seven Daesh fighters were killed in a clash between the two groups in Nangarhar.
