Development of KP’s merged areas Govt’s prime priority: PM July 30, 2020

ISLAMABAD-Prime Minister Imran Khan says development of merged areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is prime priority of government and timely provision of allocated funds for infrastructural development of these areas will be ensured.

He was addressing a meeting in Islamabad, to review issues related to energy and progress of development process in merged areas of the province.

Prime Minister directed NEPRA to resolve all issues regarding to enforcement of wheeling regime as soon as possible in consultation with all stakeholders. He also directed to ensure provincial representation in all energy related Board of Directors.

He issued directions to Power, Finance Ministries, Federal Bureau of Revenue and Provincial government to devise a mechanism regarding payment of net hydel profits.

Referring Chashma Right Bank Canal project, Prime Minister directed that feasibility of this important project of socio-economic development, particularly for agricultural sector, should be completed in six months.

Meanwhile, in a tweet, Prime Minister has directed Chairman National Disaster Management Authority to reach Karachi and start clean up in the aftermath of the rain.
