LAHORE: Tough time for the incumbent government seems ahead as leader of Pakistan Awami Tehreek is going to announce a mass movement against the government as a revenge for the model town massacre.

Tahir-ul-Qadri, of the Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) had decided to launch a movement against the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The decision was taken during a federal council of the party under the leadership of Qadri, where he was given the authority to make a decision on the anti-government movement.

Qadri said that the final decision will be made after mutual consultation and discussion with other opposition parties and will be announced on 31st July.

The firebrand cleric suggested that the Prime Minister should spend more time in Raiwind rather than in Islamabad. He has vowed to seek revenge over the killings of his activists in Model Town.

At least 17 people were killed and more than 100 were injured when police attempted to remove a barrier outside his residence on 17th June, 2014.
