KARACHI: (APP) Corps Commander Karachi, Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar on Friday inaugurated monument "Nishan-e-Pakistan" to pay tremendous tributes to martyrs and national heroes, at Sea View, in the metropolis.
Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, he said that construction of the national solidarity monument, The Nishan-e-Pakistan, was envisioned as a gift to the people of Karachi.
Besides being a symbol of national unity and cohesion, it also commemorates resilience of people of Karachi, their determination for peace and tranquility and pays tribute to all the Shuhada.
The memorial houses highest national flag pole (148 feet), Wall of Honour and Hall of Hope equipped with latest IT solutions depicting Pakistan's history and Culture.
A tree for each Shaheed has also been planted in an area of 49469 square feet.
The event was attended by politicians, bureaucrats, business community, minority leaders and representatives from Armed Forces.
