India closely watching Afghanistan endgame: officials

NEW DELHI – India is “closely watching” recent development inAfghanistan regarding the peace initiatives and does not find any reason tobe concerned by changes in US policy on Afghanistan, a media report said onSaturday.

Sources have told WION that the “basis of US South Asia policy was notIndia front and centre but US in Afghanistan”.

India’s official policy on Afghan peace process is that it should beAfghan-led, Afghan-owned, and Afghan-controlled and with participation ofthe Government of Afghanistan.

On recent participation of New Delhi at non official level during Moscowformat talks on Afghanistan, sources said “we haven’t spoken tothe Taliban and that is our policy” but “India would like to be in all theprocesses since we have legitimate interest in Afghanistan”

India sent 2 former diplomats– Amar Sinha, India’s former envoy toAfghanistan & TCA Raghavan at non-official level at the Moscow talks.
