US drone strike near Pak Afghan border kills 11 ISIS militants: Afghan officials

KABUL – At least eleven militants affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraqand Syria (ISIS) terrorist group were killed in separate drone strikes ineastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, Khaama Press has reported.

The 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan army in a statement said the USmilitary carried out an airstrike in Deh Bala district, targeting a groupof insurgents carrying weapons on two horses.

The statement further added that the militants were targeted in Kas area ofthe district, leaving three ISIS militants dead and as a result the twohorses were also killed.

The provincial government media office however said the airstrike wascarried out in Haska Mina district, providing the same casualties toll.

In the meantime, the 201st Silab in a separate statement said Friday thateight ISIS militant were killed and three others were wounded in a similarairstrike on Thursday.

Nangarhar is among the relatively calm provinces in East of Afghanistan butthe security situation of the province has started to deteriorate duringthe recent years.

At least 15 ISIS militants were killed in the latest drone strike of the USforces in this province last week.

The provincial government media office in a statement said the latestairstrike was carried out Bandar area of Achin district.

The statement further added that fifteen ISIS militants were killed andtheir weapons, ammunition, and explosives cache was destroyed in the airraid.
