KABUL – The Chief Executive of Jamiat-e-Islami Ata Mohammad Noor claimsthat the suicide bombers who detonated themselves in Salim Izadyar’sfuneral ceremony were transported to the attack area in black mirroredvehicles.

Noor made the latest claims during a press conference in Balkh governor’soffice as he assumed his work as an ordinary governor despite hisresignation was signed by President Ghani nearly two weeks ago.

He said the suicide bombers who detonated themselves among the funeralparticipants of Salim Izadyar were shifted in vehicles having black mirrors.

The former governor of Balkh province went on to claim that the main targetof the attack was to wipe out the leadership of Jamiat-e-Islami.

Noor blamed the leaders of the government of national unity for hatchingthe plot to eliminate the Jamiat party leaders.

A coordinated suicide attack rocked Kabul city earlier in June as scores ofpeople had gathered in the funeral ceremony of Salim Izadyar, the son ofthe deputy house speaker of the Afghan Senate House, who was killed duringthe rallies organized to protest against the attacks and failure of thegovernment and security institutions to ensure security for the people.

The Afghan intelligence had then said the directorate has credibleinformation suggesting that the attacks were plotted and carried out by theHaqqani network based in Pakistan.
