In Iran, annual pro-government rallies were held across the country onSaturday to mark the end of the unrest that shook the country in 2009.

Participants of the rallies carried banners in support of Supreme LeaderAyatollah Ali Khamenei.

According to state media, the unrest in 2009 was orchestrated by theloosing candidates of presidential election, Mehdi Karroubi and Mir HosseinMusavi, claiming that the results had been rigged.

Both the leaders are under house arrest on charges of provoking public andharming the national security. (Reuters/Press TV)
