President Trump can nullify Doha Accord with Taliban paving way for Strikes in Afghanistan: Former CIA Official

ISLAMABAD: Former Central Intelligence Agency targeting officer Sarah Adamshas confirmed that the United States has already transferred one billiondollars to the Taliban-led government in Afghanistan since its return topower in 2021.

Speaking in a widely circulated interview, Adams revealed that Washingtoncontinues to provide substantial financial assistance despite clearevidence of growing terrorist infrastructure under Taliban control.

She emphasised that the 2020 Doha Agreement, which governs the terms ofAmerican withdrawal, can be nullified by a single presidential signature, yet successive administrations have chosen not to exercise this option.

CIA assessments have identified multiple active training camps operated byAl Qaeda and Daesh-Khorasan inside Afghanistan, marking the completecollapse of counter-terrorism commitments extracted from the Taliban.

The former officer warned that Taliban governance has enabled ideologicalinfiltration and migration channels that now directly threaten UnitedStates homeland security.

Security analysts note these developments have revived fears of anotherlarge-scale attack originating from Afghan soil, similar to the events ofSeptember 2001.

Adams stated the situation has evolved beyond a regional concern and nowconstitutes a clear national security emergency for America and its alliesworldwide.

Military circles in Washington indicate growing pressure on the Bidenadministration to reconsider direct action against the resurfacing terrorsanctuaries.

The revelations have intensified debate over continued recognition andfunding of the Taliban regime at a time when intelligence reports confirmits active support for global terrorist networks.
