Sheikh Rashid Ahmed hits out at PTI

The Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench issued an order to de-seal LalHaveli, the residence of Awami Muslim League (AML) chief and former federalminister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed. This decision came during a case related toLal Haveli, with Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf presiding over it. Sheikh Rashidpersonally attended the court hearing wearing a ‘black coat.’

Following the hearing, Sheikh Rashid addressed the media formally,characterizing May 9 as a scheme involving “filthy individuals.” Heexpressed his unwavering support for the Pakistan Army, emphasizing that hestood by them yesterday and would continue to do so.

In the aftermath of the hearing, the chief of the Awami Muslim Leaguepraised Justice Waqas Rauf’s historic ruling and asserted his innocence inall three cases.

He revealed that he had shed 30 kilograms of weight and humorouslymentioned that he was wearing a coat he last wore during his college days.Additionally, Sheikh Rashid indicated concerns about his health and statedthat his medical reports had just arrived.

Sheikh Rashid indicated that he should be arrested in a case from October5, suggesting that instead of detaining his driver, he should be summonedto the police station. He assured that if his arrest was necessary, hewould willingly comply.

He also spoke highly of the Pakistan Army, referring to it as a greatforce. He praised Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and Inter-ServicesIntelligence (ISI) Director General (DG) Nadeem Anjum, describing them assources of national pride. Sheikh Rashid applauded General Munir as adistinguished soldier and noted that he had never spoken against the army.

Reflecting on a “40-day retreat,” Sheikh Rashid claimed that it hadtransformed him into a different person. He additionally declared hisintention to run in the next election against the Pakistan DemocraticMovement (PDM) for both seats in Rawalpindi.
