ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday issued a contemptof court notice to PM’s Special Assistant on Information Firdous Ashiq Awanand summoned on November 1.
According to a notification, Firdous Ashiq Awan while conducting a pressconference criticised the institution of the judiciary and stated that bailgranting to Nawaz Sharif will open a floodgate of similar requests byprisoners suffering from various diseases.
“While maligning the honourable courts went to say that the case of theaccused Nawaz was heard during the evening ‘as a special dispensation’,”the notice read.

The statement added that Awan “made an attempt to scandalize the court inthe eyes of the public, thereby, tried to lower the esteem of thejudiciary.”
