ISLAMABAD – Lahore High Court’s retired Justice Mahmood Akhtar was shotdead in Chakwal today.
Police said Justice Mahmood Akhtar was returning to Chakwal after attendinga namaz-e-janaza in his native village Turkwal, when unknown armed menopened fire on his car. He died on the spot, while his niece was criticallyinjured.
Meanwhile, Information Minister Chaudhary Fawad Hussain has stronglycondemned the killing of Justice (Retd) Chaudhary Mahmood Akhtar.

In a condolence message today, he said elements involved in the killingwill be brought to book. He prayed that Almighty Allah bless the departedsoul in eternal peace and give courage to the bereaved family to bear thisirreparable loss.
