KARACHI: China is planning to set an auto assembly plant near Lahore underthe Pakistan Auto Policy 2016-21.
King Long United Automotive Industry in joint venture with Shine Autosplans the assembly plant to produce commercial vehicles, both buses andtrucks at the plant.
“Initially, the JV plans to produce three types of commercial vehicles,including commercial vehicle with capacity of 15 passengers, buses withcapacity of 58 passengers, and mini truck of different capacities,” thedocument noted.
The joint venture requires 100 acres of land near Lahore and contacting theconcerned authorities in Pakistan to help them in this regard. “The projectwould attract an investment of approximately $200 million,” the officialestimated.
