ISLAMABAD – The federal government has approved five years plan for theprivatisation of the state entities.
Government has reportedly decided to privatise at least 20 stateinstitutions in its bid to address economic depletion.
Sources close to the development said that the Privatisation Commission hasapproved a five-year plan to dispose of loss-making state-owned entities.
The government has delayed the privatisation of Pakistan Steel Mills andthe national flag carrier (PIA), whereas SME Bank and First Woman Bank willbe privatised on priority basis.
A list of entities-to-be-privatised will be presented during a session ofthe privatisation board scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday).
