New development reported over case of shooter in Imran Khan assassination attempt

A local court has taken the decision to prolong the legal custody of theprimary suspect involved in the gun attack on Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf(PTI) Chairman Imran Khan during the November 2022 PTI long march, asreported by 24NewsHD TV channel. The individual in question, identified asNaveed, was presented before the court of Civil Judge Hammad Raza inWazirabad on a Saturday. This development came after the expiration of hisinitial 14-day judicial remand.

Security measures were notably stringent as Naveed was transported to thecourt premises, reflecting the gravity of the case. During the courtproceedings on that day, it was decided to extend Naveed’s judicial remandfor an additional 14 days.

The accused, Mohammad Naveed, a man in his thirties, had been apprehendedafter he discharged shots at a container, resulting in injuries to ImranKhan and 10 others who were aboard the same vehicle.

The arrest of the suspected shooter, Mohammad Naveed, occurred thanks tothe quick thinking and bravery of Khan supporter Ibtesam Hasan, who managedto overpower the assailant and thwart his dangerous intentions.
