ISLAMABAD – Foreign intelligence agencies are tracing and interceptingphone calls of important personalities and ministries, the NationalTelecommunication and Information Technology Security Board said in areport Sunday.
The board said several tracking devices have been installed at theDiplomatic Enclave and Constitution Avenue that are designed to infiltratetelephone calls and messages.
Senate Standing Committee on Interior Chairman Rehman Malik while takingnotice of the incident directed the Ministry of Interior to submit itsreport within 10 days and track down the complex machinery.
The NTISB report points to the involvement of foreign intelligence agencieswhich are intercepting calls in Islamabad, he said, adding that spying onany country is a violation of international laws.
