ISLAMABAD – Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, Mehdi Honardoost whilecongratulating Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan over hisparty’s victory in general elections has said that Iran desires strongmulti-dimensional ties with Pakistan.
The ambassador in his message on Monday said that people of Pakistan byexercising their right to vote in a large number have strengtheneddemocratic process in the country.
Mehdi Honardoost added that Iran is willing to boost its cooperation withPakistan in all fields.
He prayed for the success of Imran Khan and his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) party in providing the people of Pakistan a stable, democratic, andprosperous future.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has emerged as largest political party inPakistan’s general elections by securing 115 seats against former primeminister Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and formerpresident Asif Zardari’s Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) which won 64 and 43seats, respectively.
The PTI is likely to form next government in the country with Imran Khan asPrime Minister.
Pakistan held general elections on July 25 to elect the members of theNational Assembly, the lower house of the country’s parliament, and membersof four provincial assemblies.
Earlier Imran Khan in his first public address said that his party desiresstronger ties with Iran.
