ISLAMABAD: The Indian media is still trying to malign Imran Khan by callinghim Taliban Khan, Extremist, Army puppet and Pro Kashmiri.
Indian media reports claiming Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) ChairmanImran Khan to be an ally to extremists in order to discredit his win in theelections as candidates from Allah-o-Akbar Tehreek (AAT) fared badlyagainst PTI candidates, a local media houselinkreported.
It had been reported that PTI’s candidate in NA-53 secured 92,891 votesover the candidate Chaudhry Saeed Ahmad supported by Hafiz Saeed whomanaged to secure just 1,361 votes.
The Allah-o-Akbar Tehreek secured just 171,587 across Pakistan against16,851,240 votes secured by PTI.
Interestingly, Hafiz Saeed’s son Hafiz Talha Saeed secured less than 11,000votes from NA-91, Sargodha against 110,525 votes secured by a PML-Ncandidate.
This false portrayal by the Indian media compelled Imran Khan to react inhis victory speech after his party emerged victorious in the July 25general election.
In his victory speech, he stated that the Indian media has portrayed him asa ‘Bollywood villain’.
“It seemed as if India feared everything bad would happen if Imran Khancame into power. I am the Pakistani who is most familiar in India, I havebeen all over that country,” he further stated.
It has further been reported that the International and Indian media didnot accept Imran Khan’s for various reasons and wanted to discredit him.
Brig (r) Farooq Hameed told local media, “This is the first time that anhonest person who does not own properties outside Pakistan would become theprime minister. He does not have the support of the internationalestablishment.”
He said the victory of PTI has stunned the international establishment andIndia which had wanted someone in Pakistan who could toe their agenda.
Contrary to Nawaz Sharif’s speech in 2013, “Imran mentioned the Kashmirdispute in his victory speech,” he asserted.
