Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane has said that therestoration of ceasefire link inFebruary between Indian and Pakistani militaries along the Line of Control(LoC) is holding and contributed to the overall sense of peacelink and well-being in border areas, reported 24NewsHD TC channel.

In a surprise development, Indian and Pakistani militaries announced onFebruary 25 that they had begun observing a ceasefirelink along the LoClink midnight of February 24. Indialink and Pakistan had agreed to a ceasefirelink on the LoClink in November 2003, but it was frequentlyviolated.

Peace link along the LoClink is mutually beneficial, Naravane said.“The population living on either side suffers due to violence along the LoClink. I am sure the Pakistan army is alsoconcerned about the population and hopefully the ceasefirelink will hold,” the Indian army chieflink said.
After February 24, there has been a solitary instance of cross-borderfiring along the LoC link between the IndianBorder Security Force and Pakistan Rangers.
