ISLAMABAD – The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has rejected mediareports about forwarding summary to the government to increase the pricesof petroleum products.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the authority clarified that it has notsubmitted any summary, whatsoever, in this regard, contrary to the mediareports.
Earlier, mainstream media outlets reported that PakistanTehreek-e-Insaf-led government was likely to approve another hike in theprices of petroleum products effective from June 1, ahead of this year’sEid-ul Fitr.
According to media reports, summary for jacking up the prices was forwardedto the petroleum division according to which the price of petrol may see arise of Rs9 per liter, however, OGRA has strongly rejected such rumours.
