Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz Saturday summoned meeting of provincialbureaucracy soon after taking oath at Governor House.

According to sources, a major reshuffle in the bureaucracy would bewitnessed after Hamza Shahbaz takes over charge of the provincialgovernment. “Advocate General Punjab Ahmed Awais is likely to be replaced,”they said.

Following Lahore High Court (LHC) orders, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif onSaturday sworn in as the 21st Chief Minister of Punjab at a ceremony heldat the Governor House.

Hamza Shahbaz Sharif was administered the oath by National Assembly SpeakerRaja Pervez Asharaf on LHC order after Punjab Governor Omar Cheema turneddown the court’s suggestion and refused to administer the oath.

Hamza Shahbaz was elected as Punjab CM after he secured 197 votes followinga chaotic session at the provincial assembly that saw Deputy Speaker SardarDost Muhammad Mazari attacked and PML-Q leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi getinjured.

Hamza garnered 197 votes to beat Elahi — his rival, whose party PML-Q andally PTI boycotted the election held on April 16.
