Kashmir cause ignored by top babus in international human rights conference held in Islamabad: Report

ISLAMABAD – Minister of State for Human Rights Barrister Usman Ibrahim haslashed out at the top bureaucrats of his own ministry for ignoring Kashmircause in the international human rights conference in Islamabad.

Minister stated that the International Human Rights Conference heldon February 19-21 was a “complete failure” as it did not serve the nationalcause, Pakistan Today has reported.

“It was doomed to be a failure due to non-inclusion of Kashmir issue in theagenda which was a big blunder. It was appreciated or acknowledged byinternational or diplomatic circles because it might have served theiragenda,” the minister wrote in a note referred to Federal Secretary,Ministry of Human Rights, Ms Rabia Javeri Agha and Director General (DG)Kamran Azam Khan, asking both to explain why Kashmir Issue was not includedin the agenda of the international conference.

The detailed note is also being submitted to the federal minister of HumanRights for information by the minister of state arguing why Kashmir issuewas not included in the Agenda. Usman Ibrahim also declared the ignoranceeither a big blunder or intentional move and asked the concerned officersto clear their position in this regard.

Ministry of Human Rights (MOHR) had reportedly spent Rs 30 million forholding the International Human Rights Conference on February 19-21, 2018.Interestingly, the human rights violation in Indian Occupied Kashmir andbrutality was not included in the conference agenda. The minister declaredit either a big blunder or deliberate attempt owing to internationalpressures.

“The conference was appreciated and acknowledged by international ordiplomatic circle because it might have served their agenda,” the paperreads. A detailed note on it is being submitted to Federal Ministerseparately, he said.

The Minister of State for Human Rights Barrister Usman Ibrahim also soughtout the details of the expenses worth Rs 30 million during theInternational Human Rights Conference.

A source at the ministry told this scribe that Usman Ibrahim might move thematter to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for investigation on groundsof possible corruption charges.
