The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan MuslimLeague-Quaid (PML-Q) Wednesday separately contacted Aleem Khanlink and like-minded Chheenalink, factions within ruling PakistanTehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), for the support link oftheir assembly members to win the seat of Chief Minister in Punjab.
Both parties have contacted the Aleem Khanlink Group and sought its supportlink. According to sources, which waythe AleemKhan link Group will show its tilt isexpected to be made public today.
The sources privy to the development revealed that Chaudhry Moonis Elahifrom the PML-Q and Rana Sanaullah and Ataullah Tarar from the PML-Ncontacted Chheena link Group headGhazanfar Abbas Chheena link.
Leaders of both the parties sought supportlink for their respective candidates forthe slot of Chief Minister in Punjab.
The Chheena link Group claimed that thePML-Q assured them of representation in Punjab cabinet, whereas, the PML-Npromised tickets in the next elections.
Malik Ghazanfar Abbas said that a meeting of the group members had beencalled in Lahore on Wednesday (today) to take stock of the situation.
He maintained that there were 14 assembly members in the like-minded Chheenalink Group, adding that the number wouldclimb further as more assembly members were in touch with them.
