JAMMU- An army patrol party was on Thursday attacked by a group of heavilyarmed militants in Ahgam village of Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district.

According to reports, the attack took place this evening when a patrolparty of the 44 Rashtriya Rifles was targeted by the militants as itentered the Ahgam village.

Militants also fired upon the house of a Special Police Officer namedMushtaq Ahmed Sheikh in Bijbehara who was badly injured.

He was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.

However, he succumbed to injuries while he was on way to the hospital.
