ISLAMABAD – Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda Wednesday directedexpediting Dasu Hydropower Project land acquisition process and removingall hurdles in this regard.
Chairing 12th Steering Committee Meeting of Dasu Dam Hydropower Project inMinistry of Water Resources, Vawda directed the project team to speed upland acquisition for hydropower project and showed full support to removeall hurdles therein, said a press release issued here.He said that building of dams was among top priorities of the currentgovernment contrary to the last 50 years where no government took thismatter seriously.Dasu Hydropower project will have total installed capacity of 4,320 Megawatts of electricity with 12 generating units and is among the priorityprojects under the National Water Policy.Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan also attended themeeting. Progress update on the project subsequent to the last meeting wasshared with the steering committee.
