Pakistan upgrades it s Air Navigation and Surveillance System

ISLAMABAD – The Federal Minister for Aviation and Privatization, MuhammadMian Soomro, has said that Pakistan has upgraded its air navigation andsurveillance, and the country now has a dependable and robust air transportsystem.

He was addressing the 27th Steering Committee Meeting of CooperativeDevelopment of Operational Safety and Continuing Airworthiness Program –South Asia (Coscap-SA).

On the occasion, the minister said that Pakistan fully backs and implementsglobal policies and guidelines for safe, efficient, and viable civilaviation.link

The minister said the construction of Gwadar International Airport isunderway at a fast pace and that its completion will not only makePakistan’s air transport system stronger but will also aid in economicgrowth.——————————

He informed the attendants that the newly-built Islamabad Airport is themost modern Greenfield airport in the country. The minister alsohighlighted the expansion and upgrading work other international airportshave received in recent times.

Secretary Aviation Division and Director General of Pakistan Civil AviationAuthority (CAA), Sqn Ldr (retd) Shahrukh Nusrat, also attended the meeting.
