ISLAMABAD – Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday has declared petitionfiled against ex-prime minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and his daughter MaryamNawaz’s anti-judiciary speeches as admissible.
Justice Amir Farooq conducted hearing on the plea of Adnan Iqbal duringwhich, the plaintiff said that Nawaz and Maryam are spreading anarchyagainst courts, adding that their speeches come under contempt of courttherefore, launch investigation against them, he urged.
Earlier, Lahore High Court (LHC) had also issued notices to Sharif familyin a case pertaining to anti-judiciary speeches.LHC had also merged contempt of court petitions against Nawaz Sharif andhis daughter Maryam Nawaz.
The judge asked advocate Azhar, why he is not approaching Supreme Court(SC) for this case over which, he responded that LHC can also holdproceeding on it.
On August 10, Nawaz Sharif departed for Lahore from Islamabad via GT Roadand reached on August 13 amid applause and love from the passionatePakistan Muslim-League-Nawaz (PML-N) supporters.
Throughout the journey, Nawaz Sharif addressed in big cities includingGujrat, Gujranwala, Muridke and Lahore and denied the SC decision, askinghis workers to support him.— NNI
