Former cricketer Moin Khan has advocated for the inclusion of Karachi Whites batters, Saim Ayub and Shan Masood, in the Pakistan squad for the upcoming Test tour of Australia. Shan Masood, in particular, played a crucial role in Karachi Whites' fifth Quaid-e-Azam Trophy victory, earning the title of Player of the Final for his remarkable 312 runs against Faisalabad.
Notably, he achieved a unique feat, becoming the first batter to score 200 in the first innings and follow up with a century in the final, making him the second player to achieve centuries in both innings.
Throughout the tournament, Shan Masood accumulated an impressive total of 553 runs from four matches, boasting an average of 79.00 and a strike rate of 66.62, with three centuries to his name. Meanwhile, Saim Ayub displayed his batting prowess by amassing 341 runs from three matches, with an average of 56.83 and a striking strike rate of 103.64, including a century and two fifties.
Moin Khan emphasized that the outstanding performances of these two cricketers make a strong case for their selection in the three-match Test tour of Australia.
He expressed his belief on the A-Sports show 'The Pavilion,' underscoring that Australia tours serve as a valuable learning platform for young talents in the sport.
Moin Khan also noted Saim Ayub's significant contributions, particularly in Jamaica Tallawahs' victory in the Caribbean Premier League 2023. It's worth mentioning that Saim Ayub was a part of the Pakistan Shaheens squad that emerged victorious in the ACC Men's Emerging Asia Cup this year, where he scored 161 runs, including two half-centuries.
