Pakistan, Turkey agree to expand scope of bilateral consultations

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan and Turkey have agreed to expand the scope of bilateral consultations between their Ministries of Foreign Affairs to new areas.

The agreement came at third round of Pakistan-Turkey bilateral consultations on UN-related matters, in Ankara.

The two sides exchanged views on UN Security Council reform process, humanitarian and refugee issues, countering terrorism, Islamophobia and religious discrimination, matters related to transnational organized crime and other wide range of issues.

They expressed complete satisfaction at the existing close cooperation between the two countries at multi-lateral forums, as well as unanimity of views on issues of regional and international importance.

Pakistan’s delegation was led by Special Secretary, UN and EC/SCO), Tasnim Aslam, while the Turkish side was led by Deputy Under-secretary for Political Affairs, Kaan Esener. APP/AFP
