ISLAMABAD – Days after Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Marvi Memon taunted the party leadership, a senior journalist has made startling revelation regarding Memon’s job at Pakistan Army’s media wing during the tenure of former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf.
Arif Nizami talking to a private news channel in a programme claimed that Marvi Memon, who is also chairperson of Benazir Income Support Programme, had been accommodated in the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) after creating a new job position during Musharraf’s regime.
Referring to her recent Tweet in which she said mistake was committed by someone else and punishment was awarded to someone else, Nizami said such reactions must have reasons.
One of the reasons behind this action is that politicians, who are used to change their loyalties, start leaving the party when they come to know about troubles, like rats deserting a sinking ship.
He said Memon is an expert in computer software and she had been assigned a task to monitor the trends of media and presented a report to then president Musharraf.
The journalist further revealed that Memon had to left the job due to some dispute with then director general of ISPR.
After Musharraf was sent packing, the BISP chairperson, who is the daughter of former information minister Nisar Memon, started efforts to get a place in the PTI and PML-N.
Later, the PML-N accepted her and bestowed her with a prominent post.
