ISLAMABAD - Greatest ever Squash Player Jehangir Khan reveals his favourite cricket players, a little surprise.
Pakistan sports legend Jahangir Khan picked Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli and Aussie pace spearhead Mitchell Starc as his favourite cricketers at the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019.
“In batting I would say Virat Kohli and in bowling I would say Mitchell Starc,” said Jahangir, while talking to Pakistan bowling great Wasim Akram, quoted ICC.
Jahangir dominated the world of squash in 1980s and 90s, he won the World Open six times and the British Open a record ten times. From 1981 to 1986, he was unbeaten in competitive play and boosts a record of winning 555 matches consecutively, the longest winning streak by any athlete in top-level professional sports.
Speaking about his professional accomplishments, Jahangir said that it was his intensive training and hard work that paved the way for his records.
“To be honest, I would like to say that it was all hard work as I never meant to make any kind of record, but whenever I was playing in the professional circuit I always wanted to do the best and like to be number one and perform well as well.
“I think that was really kept me going all the time, and I was more focused more discipline and I was doing routine training eight hours a day, I think that really paid off,” said Jahangir.
