Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has urged Pakistan, especially its private sector, to come forward and take part in infrastructure development of Afghanistan.
He was addressing the Pak-Afghan Business Forum at Governor's House in Lahore.
He said Afghanistan is a landlocked country but it can play an effective role for improved connectivity between Central Asia and South Asia.
Ashraf Ghani said Gwadar has great trade potential and Afghanistan can play a better role to expand its scope to Central Asian states.
Addressing the forum, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said the Afghan President's visit to Pakistan would further strengthen relations between the two brotherly Islamic countries.
Prime Minister's Advisor on Commerce, Trade and Textile Abdul Razak Dawood in his address said they had fruitful discussion with the Afghan President regarding trade and connectivity as to how both the countries could truly progress and take forward the bilateral ties.
