Advisor to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui says the federal government has established a five hundred million rupees fund for the welfare of literary people.
Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Pakistan Academy of Letters in Peshawar on Saturday, he said the fund will be utilized by Pakistan Academy of Letters to publish books and other research theses of the poets who cannot afford to publish their writings.
Addressing the ceremony, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra says that writers play vital role in development of the society.
He urged the literary people to help root out ignorance, terrorism and extremism through literature.
