PM Imran Khan sent shock waves with his stern warning

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday has sent shock waves withhis stern warning over money laundering.

He said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is going to takebiggest action against money laundering in the history of the country.

Addressing a Diplomats Conference in Islamabad on Friday, he said, “Iwanted to make it clear that there is no crisis in the country now,however, the government is facing number of challenges and teamwork isneeded to get out of these challenges.”

The prime minister said that we need to change our mindset as Pakistancannot be run like this, adding that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shouldbe the first to change its mindset.

He said that the nation needs to change its mindset of depending on othersand make coordinated national efforts to convert the current challenges atdifferent fronts into opportunities.

Imran Khan said that all actions of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF)are in Pakistan’s interest, adding that this international institutionwants an end to money laundering and armed groups.

“The government is going to launch biggest action in the history of thecountry against money laundering,” he added.

The prime minister said: “Those involved in the smuggling of dollars shouldstart counting their days as those involved in money laundering won’t bespared.”

PM Imran regretted that our elites have ditched the country atinternational level for their own vested interest. He said past rulersprojected themselves as progressive and painted rest of the nation asextremist, causing an enormous damage to the national image.
