PAF wins First ever Ice Hockey match in the history of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – First ever Ice Hockey match, played in Naltar ofGilgit-Baltistan on Saturday, was won by Pakistan Air Force.

The match was played between the winning team and GB Scouts. Players fromboth the sides showed some extraordinary skills but no team could score agoal within stipulated time.

In the penalty shootout, by the golden goal scored by Shahsyar, PAF won thematch.

The History of Ice Hockey in Gilgit Baltistan Region can be related to alocal game “Ghatal”, which is also played with two sticks and a Ball.

To continue the legacy of this traditional game, Ice Hockey has beenintroduced in the region.
