High Level Egyptian Delegation arrives in Pakistan for strategic talks

ISLAMABAD: Egypt’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Badr Abdelatty, willpay an official visit to Pakistan on 29-30 November at the invitation ofDeputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, theForeign Office announced on Friday.

The visit is expected to inject fresh momentum into the longstanding andfriendly relations between Pakistan and Egypt by strengthening cooperationin political, economic, defence, and cultural domains.

During the visit, the Egyptian foreign minister will hold a one-on-onemeeting with Senator Ishaq Dar, followed by delegation-level talks betweenthe two sides.

Both countries will undertake a comprehensive review of bilateral relationsand exchange views on regional and global developments, with particularfocus on the situation in Gaza.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said the discussions would cover the entirespectrum of Pakistan-Egypt ties and explore new avenues for mutuallybeneficial partnership.

The visit follows a telephone conversation between the two foreignministers earlier this month, during which Senator Dar extended a formalinvitation to his Egyptian counterpart.

Officials believe the high-level engagement will provide new impetus anddirection to the strategic partnership between Islamabad and Cairo.

Pakistan and Egypt have historically enjoyed warm relations rooted inshared faith, culture, and mutual support on issues of common interest.
