Pakistan makes important appeals to Afghan Taliban Government

In Islamabad, the Afghan diplomatic mission head was summoned by theForeign Office on Tuesday, where four demands were conveyed, including theextradition of Hafiz Gul Bahadur responsible for the recent terroristattack in Bannu.

The attack claimed two lives and injured 10, with the ISPR identifying thesuicide bomber as an Afghan national affiliated with Hafiz Gul BahadurGroup.

The Afghan Embassy representative faced a strong protest over the attack,marking the 16th suicide attack in Pakistan by an Afghan national. Whilethe Foreign Office didn’t issue an official statement, sources revealed thedemands, including a thorough investigation into the Bannu attack anddecisive action against perpetrators.Pakistan also urged immediate “verifiable actions” against all terroristgroups and their sanctuaries, emphasizing the need to apprehend Hafiz GulBahadar and prevent Afghan soil from being used for terrorism againstPakistan.

Tensions between the two nations persist, with the Afghan Taliban’sreluctance to act against the TTP contributing to the strained relations.

Despite increased terrorist attacks in Pakistan since the Taliban’s returnto power in Afghanistan, the Afghan Taliban government has been pushing fortalks between Pakistan and the TTP, indicating a complex diplomaticsituation.
