*KARACHI – The Sindh government has decided to set up its own grid companyunder public-private partnership approach, which will mainly contribute torelinquish clean electricity being produced in the country’s only windcorridor in Thatta-Jhimpir region of the province.*
The announcement was made by Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikhwhile addressing as the chief guest at the inauguration of 17th World WindEnergy Conference-2018 on Wednesday. This three-day conference wasorganized by World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) on the subject“Re-energizing the developing world”.
The provincial minister stated on the instance that the projected gridcompany would serve up as the keystone of the Sindh government’s energypolicy being followed to bind the enormous capability the province had togenerate clean electricity on foundation of its unexploited renewableresources of power generation.

He also added that, Sindh government would institute its own grid companyin accordance of the similar policy fortitude, which was previouslyconsumed to set up its own transmission and dispatch company for generatingelectricity from 100 MWs Nooriabad power plant-provincial government firstown power plant under PPP mode-to Karachi.
