Former PM Nawaz Sharif lands in a new trouble

A contempt of court proceedings against the leader of the Pakistan MuslimLeague-N, Nawaz Sharif, has been scheduled for a hearing. According tomedia reports, the Islamabad High Court has set a date for the hearing ofthe contempt of court request against the former Prime Minister NawazSharif.

Chief Justice Amir Farooq of the Islamabad High Court will hear thecontempt of court proceedings against the PML-N leader dating back to 2018,in which citizen Adnan Iqbal had requested action against Nawaz Sharif’sstatements in 2018.

The Registrar’s office of the Islamabad High Court has set the hearing datefor the contempt of court request on November 15th.

On the other hand, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-N, SenatorIrfan Siddiqui, has said that all the illegal obstacles that were createdare now crumbling. Clear injustices and dual standards that were applied toNawaz Sharif will be exposed one by one, and he will play his clear role inpolitics.

He further mentioned that as far as the playing field is concerned, in2002, Nawaz Sharif did not participate in the elections, in 2008, he wasnot allowed to contest the elections, in 2013, Asif Zardari was thePresident, and elections were held under his tenure, in 2018, again NawazSharif couldn’t contest the elections, and he was put in jail. So, was thisall a level playing field?

The Senator of the PML-N also stated that Nawaz Sharif did not adopt arhetoric of confrontation and conflict during his four-year term. Instead,a storm of revelations was made in a teacup, including the Panama Papers. Arejected tweet was also posted, but Nawaz Sharif continued. Now, NawazSharif has also said on the Minar-e-Pakistan that everyone needs to cometogether, sit down, and make a sincere effort. Only then can Pakistan moveforward.
