Pakistan head coach Misbahul Haq may face ban

ISLAMABAD – Citing conflict of interest, four out of six Pakistan SuperLeague (PSL) franchises have requested the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) toban Misbah-ul-Haq from working in the premier tournament.

According to the reports, two franchises – Islamabad United and PeshawarZalmi – are, however, interested in securing the services of Pakistan HeadCoach and Chief Selector.

The PCB was earlier against the dual roles with the Pakistan cricket teamand PSL franchises during Mickey Arthur’s era. Arthur worked with KarachiKings as Head Coach despite holding the same position for the Green Shirts, whereas Inzamam-ul-Haq worked with Lahore Qalandars in addition to servingas the Chief Selector of the national team.

Misbah’s appointment, according to reports, was subject to his condition ofworking simultaneously with PSL and Pakistan national team.

The PCB was then forced to backtrack from its stance of conflict ofinterest, however, it remains to be seen whether the 45-year-old associateshimself with the league or not.
