NEW DELHI – Indian Cricket team especially skipper Kohli comes under terrorthreat, Indian media has reported.
Indian Police have been instructed to raise the security of the Indiancricket team after an anonymous letter was received by the NationalInvestigation Agency (NIA) which claimed that the national team,particularly captain Virat Kohli, were in danger of being targeted; sourcestold the Hindustan TimeslinkonTuesday.
India’s cricket team is currently scheduled to participate in three-matchTwenty20 Internationals (T20Is) series against Bangladesh followed by atwo-match Test series.
The first T20I will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday.
As per Delhi Police sources, the letter contains a list which also includesthe names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind, HomeMinister Amit Shah, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Lal Krishna Advani, BJPworking President J.P. Nadda and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ChiefMohan Bhagwat.
