ISLAMABAD -In a shock, International Cricket Council bans BangladeshCaptain Shakib Al Hasan from all forms of cricket for 2 years.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday banned Bangladeshcaptain Shakib Al Hasan from all cricket for two years, with one year ofthat suspended, after he accepted three charges of breaching the ICCAnti-Corruption Code.

Shakib, according to Bangladesh daily *Samakallink*,had failed to report to the ICC a corruption proposal made by a blacklistedbookie two years ago.

Shakib, the publication stated, had turned down the approach but failed toreport the offer to the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Department, which the globalgoverning body requires in such cases.

“I am obviously extremely sad to have been banned from the game I love, butI completely accept my sanction for not reporting the approaches.

The ICC ACU is reliant on players to play a central part in the fightagainst corruption and I didn’t do my duty in this instance,” Shakib isquoted as saying in an ICC press release.
