Karachi: DG Port and Shipping, Aaliya Shahid, has stated that a ferryservice will soon operate between Karachi and Gwadar. This announcement wasmade during an event held at the Pakistan Marine Academy to commemorateWorld Maritime Day. The ceremony was attended by Commandant PMA CommodoreRizwan Ali Munawar, as well as experts in maritime affairs, individualsfrom various walks of life, and a significant number of cadets specializingin nautical and engineering disciplines.
Speaking to the media on this occasion, DG Port and Shipping Aaliya Shahidmentioned that the Karachi to Gwadar ferry service will be initiated soon,and the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation will provide facilities forthis service.
Through this service, travelers between the two cities will have anadditional option of sea travel alongside the road route. This developmentholds significant promise for both Karachi and Gwadar, two major coastalcities in Pakistan. It not only enhances connectivity but also promotesmaritime transportation, contributing to the economic and logisticaldevelopment of the region.
