COAS General Asim Munir gives a stern warning

General Syed Asim Munir NI (M), the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), embarked ona visit to Lahore on Thursday, where he participated in a significantgathering, the Provincial Apex Committee meeting, alongside Punjab’sCaretaker Chief Minister, Mohsin Raza Naqvi.

Within the context of the Apex Committee meeting, the COAS received acomprehensive briefing on the prevailing security situation. The briefingencompassed various aspects, including the law enforcement endeavors aimedat curbing electricity and gas theft, as well as addressing issues relatedto hoarding and foreign currency smuggling.

Additionally, the forum was apprised of the efforts taken to safeguard therights and well-being of minorities, as well as the progress achieved inoperations in the Kacha area. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR)issued a press release disclosing that the committee also deliberated onthe repatriation of illegal foreign nationals.

COAS, in his address, underscored the unwavering commitment to pursue lawenforcement actions against a broad spectrum of illegal activities. Heemphasized that these efforts would be sustained through robustcollaboration with Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and relevant governmentdepartments, with the overarching goal of eradicating the substantialeconomic losses inflicted upon Pakistan due to various forms of pilferage.

Furthermore, the committee was briefed on the advancements in the Safe andInclusive Cities (SIFC) initiative and the Green Punjab initiatives. COAShighlighted the imperative need for seamless coordination among allpertinent departments to ensure the success of these transformativeinitiatives.

Participants at the meeting collectively affirmed their dedication to theprogress and prosperity of the province, demonstrating a united frontcomprising state institutions, government departments, and the populace.
