The Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced later tonight that morethan 1.051 million voters cast their votes in over 2.5 thousand pollingstations across the country in today’s presidential elections.
The IEC officials told reporters that they have received the results of2,597 polling stations out of 4,942 polling stations from acrossAfghanistan.
The officials further added that the information received by IEC indicatethat 1,051,998 voters cast their votes in more than 2,590 polling stations.
The officials had earlier reported around 9.6 million have registered theirnames for the presidential elections.
